DOOR THRESHOLD OPTIONS

Low level Aluminium thresholds, some of which are compliant with Document ‘M’ of building regulations, allow easy access to buildings for disabled visitors or occupants. They make an excellent upgrade when replacing doors.

  • Anodised gold threshold

When replacing doors, regulations state that door thresholds should be made no higher than an existing threshold. There are options to completely remove the external cill. This usually requires a course or split course of bricks to be laid and sealed to protect against water and damp penetration. This would be done when access for a physically disabled person is required.

  • Threshold installed with rear ramp direct to finished floor

Aluminium Thresholds are not only more robust than UPVC, but at almost 2 inches lower and standing only 25mm above the finished floor level, they make an excellent upgrade and helps reduce a trip hazard making life easier, particularly for the physically disabled.

  • Anodised gold threshold

The thresholds are weather rated as they are rebated. They are available in Anodised Gold or Silver (mill finish). They have the option of a rear ramp which can be fitted if the external cill is removed. This further reduces trip hazard and is primarily designed for wheelchair users.

  • Gold threshold with rear ramp installed level with the finished floor

They’re unobtrusive, very low to the finished floor and installed into all newbuild homes.

  • Silver (mill finish) threshold

We have many years experience installing replacement doors that include low level thresholds, either fitted directly to the finished floor or on a door cill.

  • Silver threshold

Installed with rear ramp fitted to finished floor

  • Fully Automated (UPVC) Door with silver threshold

Doc ‘M’ Thresholds are fully compliant when the ground level is built to the same level as the finished floor.

  • Fully Automated (UPVC) door with silver threshold

Electric locks and door openers and closers can also be installed on our doors. Entry/ exit is usually gained by a key fob or push to exit buttons.

  • Standard UPVC Threshold

Usually a choice driven by either budget, or in this case aesthetics of symmetry.

When a door is joined to a sidelight, the threshold match both profile and in height.

  • Silver threshold fitted level to the finished floor

Low aluminium threshold door joined to a sidelight. A split course of bricks were laid level to the finished floor.

  • Silver low threshold fitted on a door cill

  • Silver Aluminium threshold

This threshold makes a great upgrade from UPVC, and is used with durability in mind over the ultra low Doc ‘M’ compliant threshold for ease of access. Being the same width as the UPVC frame, some may argue looks the neatest of aluminium thresholds.

Automatic Multi-Point Door locking options are available on all our composite doors

The ‘AV2 autolock’ is positioned in the centre of the door

  • Close your door and the automatic hook locks will engage. No need need to lift a handle to engage the security hook locks, as they fire automatically securing your home instantly. Ideal for family members who have a habit of leaving doors unlocked. .

  • To disengage the lock (open the door) simply use the internal thumb-turn cylinder and open the door. External access is gained using a key. All our ‘slam shut’ locks come with an internal thumb-turn for user safety and convenience.

  • The above door in the picture shows the AV2 autolock which is positioned in the centre of the door. These locks are a great addition and look aesthetically best placed on any modern designed composite door. Anthracite grey door with 1600mm offset bar handles
